PLANO, TEXAS (July 22, 2008) – Performance Pipe, the largest producer of solid wall polyethylene (PE) piping products in the United States, has completed the expansion of its pipe manufacturing plant in Pryor, Oklahoma, northeast of Tulsa. The plant manufacturers PE pipe for use in the municipal and industrial markets plus natural gas gathering and distribution systems.
"We continue to invest in our plants to provide the country with the newest products," stated Dave Morgan, president of Performance Pipe, a division of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. "Our plant in Pryor is located in the middle of the country where many significant projects are being undertaken to revitalize the infrastructure and increase the supply of natural gas."
The expansion, completed during the second half of 2008, doubled the size of the plant to provide the additional manufacturing capacity.
According to Shawn Spears, plant manager, the facility is OSHA VPP STAR certified and has exceeded three years without a recordable injury. "We are also ISO 9001:2000 certified to assure our customers are getting the top quality products they’ve expected from Performance Pipe for the past 40 years. This includes meeting the specifications for natural gas lines, municipal water distribution and geothermal systems, which are increasingly popular as a way to reduce electricity usage."
During the past two years, Performance Pipe has also expanded the capacity of its plants in Reno, Nevada and Brownwood, Texas.
